Dreams : Fairy Tales or Reflections from Parallel Universe?

We all dream, whether or not we recall them. Our dreams might be funny, strange, or horrifying at times. Have you ever pondered the meaning of a dream you've just had? Have you ever contemplated the reason behind our dreams? In order to answer such queries, I am hereby presenting my interpretation of dreams connecting the concepts of particle physics and quantum mechanics. Let's dive deep into the content.

Firstly, we need to understand the concept of parallel worlds. It might sound strange to you at the beginning, but everything is possible in a hypothetical world. The most renowned and intriguing quantum physics experiment, "The Double Slit Experiment" may be used to derive the notion of parallel worlds. It was demonstrated in this experiment that a particle exhibits both particle and wave nature. When no conscious observer is present, the particles behave like a wave, generating an interference pattern, and behave like particles when an observer is there.

Till date, there is no scientific explanation for why the wave form is collapsing to create a particle form when an observer exists. According to Copenhagen Interpretation, at a given moment of time, a quantum particle can exist in every possible state resulting in Quantum Superposition. Since cosmos is made up of quantum particles, the universe might be having a wave function describing all possible states of universe, resulting in a superposition of multiverses. However, the cosmos is showing particle nature and existing as a static reality as a result of our conscious perception.


The second concept we need to understand is "Quantum Entanglement". Quantum entanglement is a phenomenon where two particles become interconnected in such a way that the state of one particle instantly influences the state of the other, regardless of the distance separating them. This "spooky action at a distance," as Albert Einstein famously called it, has been experimentally verified and forms a cornerstone of quantum mechanics. To visualize this, imagine two dice that, when rolled, always show the same number, no matter how far apart they are. This instant correlation is what makes quantum entanglement so intriguing and potentially applicable to understanding complex systems like the human brain.

Things can only be perceived in three dimensions in our physical world. However, time functions as a fourth dimension over which we have no influence. In the journey of our life through time, we always have to make a choice from a list of options (for example, choosing a course to study or a career to pursue) for the next step in our life. The universe splits and creates several parallel worlds with different timelines in a fifth dimension at that point in time, where our life will be continued in all other choices that we did not choose.


With an understanding of parallel worlds and quantum entanglement, you can now grasp my interpretation of dreams. During deep sleep, when our consciousness is absent and we are not observing this universe, the multiverse comes into picture where the superposition of parallel worlds exist in a higher dimension. These parallel worlds branch off based on events occurring in the dimension of time, resulting in the creation of our replicas in each parallel universe. Since, all these timelines originate from a single source, all our other versions across these parallel worlds remains quantum entangled.



In the absence of our consciousness during deep sleep, the universe may exhibit its wave-like nature, bringing the multiverse into play. Quantum entanglement, which has already been established among the infinite versions of ourselves in the myriad parallel worlds, will facilitate the sharing of information through our dreams. This extraordinary mechanism allows us to have a glimpse into new locations, encounter different circumstances, meet unfamiliar people, and explore various shades of ourselves where each scenario is a reflection from a parallel universe.

Through our dreams, we have the potential to virtually traverse these parallel worlds, experiencing the infinite possibile outcomes of our lives that each universe holds. While we may not literally step into these alternate realities, but our dreams offer a window into the vast, interconnected web of existence that quantum mechanics suggests. In this light, dreams become not just random nocturnal narratives but profound connections to the broader cosmos, inviting us to explore the boundless realms of our imagination and the universe itself.
